When you talk about modern Spanish filmmakers who make an impact to this day, Pedro Almodovar’s name is usually among the first to pop up. Since 1984, he has made us laugh, cry, cheer, but most of all, he has entertained us with his interesting characters and fascinating stories. His latest piece, titled “I’m So Excited” for its American release does not have a set U.S. date yet. Its Spanish title is “Los Amantes Pasajeros.” This translates to “The Passenger Lovers” which is a horrid title if you ask me, therefore I feel the title change seems appropriate. Though, as a result, I can’t help but think of the Saved by the Bell episode where Jessie starts taking pills to deal with exams. Its due for release in Spain on March 15th, so I would expect an American release sometime in the fall to get closer to awards season. The film stars Almodovar usual Javier Camara as well as appearances from Cecilia Roth, Lola Duenas, Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, all of whom are Almodovar alumni. So, while the American release may be some time away, here is a very comical teaser for the wait.
